That's a good question! I might not be able to help with ones to avoid, but here is what I would do.
1. Identify why I have dandruff. Is it a dry scalp? Fungal overgrowth? The way I did this was by trying out different products. I first tried the antifungals, which didn't seem to work. I then realised it was a dry scalp which was the problem!
2. Look for products which have the ingredients I need.
3. Try each shampoo brand until I find the one I need :)
